Next up: We’ve Got Summertime Spirit!

Screen Shot 2017-06-17 at 5.47.34 PM

Are you ready for the summer?

I hope so, because unfortunately, it is summer (at least here in Austin, Texas, where it was, like, 103 today!). Is there a better way to beat the heat than with a couple of fun teen TV movies that embrace all those things about summer I think I might enjoy in a parallel universe? And, that’s simply the long way of saying that our next episode is dedicated to those winsome days of yore, and we’ll be covering the classic telefilms High School USA (1983), and Poison Ivy (1985)! Hooray!

This also means that we’ll be giving Michael J. Fox a huge amount of love, which he deserves anyway! So excited for this one!

We’ll be recording sometime during the last week of June. You know the drill… There are several ways to contact us, so click on that link and drop us a line! And remember, you can comment on the film picks, past episodes, or, if  you so desire, anything small screen related. We’d love to hear from you!

Episode 22: Small Screen Proto Slashers!

Screen Shot 2017-06-08 at 9.30.20 PM

We’re back and excited about our discussion about Five Desperate Women (1971) and She’s Dressed to Kill (1979). What makes a proto-slasher? We’re not sure we know, and that made the talk really fun for us. Hope you enjoy!

We’ll be diving into summer in a few weeks and discussing High School USA (1983), and Poison Ivy (1985). Viva la Michael J. Fox! You know the drill, contact us if you’d like to discuss these two films or any other TV movies you are interested in!

I also wanted to share some links from around the net:

Check out our good friend and listener Christin Haws’ Patreon page, as well as her interview with our other good friend Shannon on her podcast The Zero Plus Zero Show. And just listen to all of Shannon’s episodes. It’s a great show!

Also, our new friend Kevin has three podcasts you might be interested in:

Also, make sure to pick up Dan’s book, 80s Action Movies on the Cheap.

And my book, Are You in the House Alone? A TV Movie Compendium.

And if you are interested in what I discussed in London at the Miskantonic Institute of Horror Studies, you can get the full list here, and you can also connect with most of the podcasts I’ve been on recently here.

And here’s a couple of more:

I will be adding websites and more podcast links through the summer. Our goal is to build up a nice community. So, you know, contact us and let us know what you think of the show and who you are.
